Funeral services for Bill James Redford, 81, of Wagoner were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 15 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Wade Robertson officiating. Willie James "Bill" Redford was born Sept. 21, 1929 in Borger, Texas to Arthur and Irene (Smith) Redford. At a young age his family moved to the Stroud area where Bill would grow up. He was a veteran and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bill worked as an electrician and maintenance supervisor in Oklahoma City for several years. He and June were united in marriage on Dec. 9, 1968, a union that lasted 42 years. They moved to Wagoner in 1980 where Bill worked at the Wagoner Community Hospital. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling to south Texas to visit friends. Bill passed away peacefully Monday, June 13 at his home in Wagoner. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harold Lee Redford; a step-daughter, Joyce Hall, and a son, Carl Redford. He is survived by his wife, June, of the home; a son, Timmy Redford, and his wife, Tammy, of southeast Oklahoma; a daughter, Nancy Kelly, and her husband, Bill, of Cedar Hill, Texas; three step-daughters, Carol Cleland, and her husband, Kenneth, of Wagoner, Sandra Adams of Moore, and Geraldine Coxey, and her husband, David, of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Bill's great-grandsons, Robbie Simmons, Keith Simmons, Russell Watson, Taylor Watson, Garrett Watson, Kylie Whitaker, Keyton Blaylock, Shannon Wells and Eric Kidwell and served as pallbearers. Carl Myers, Wayne Burrows, Gerald Lancaster and Art Hobbs were honorary pallbearers. Funeral arrangements and interment in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner were directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
