Harriet Pool was born in Portage County, Ohio Sept. 21, 1827. Married to Stephen Harry April 12, 1849. There were born to this union two sons and one daughter. They, along with Theodore, a son of Mr. Harry from a former marriage, were a happy family until Nov. 14 1864 when death claimed the kind husband and father.
Harriet Harry was converted and united in the Methodist Episcopal church in the winter of 1865 under the pastorage of Rev Miller. Oct. 20 1869 she was married to George Nelson who departed this life Sept. 24, 1887.
Mrs. Nelson had been in poor health for several years, during the last year she was a great sufferer, but was patient and in her life repeated much of the life of the dear loving Savior whom she loved from her youth. She died at her home near Edgerton June 13, 1900. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor A.G.Watkins at the M.E. Church at Edgerton. Text Psalms 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Mrs. Nelson was a sister of Mrs. S.L. Rowell of this place.
