Georgia Rule Adams age 92, last surviving child of the late James and Elizabeth Burnett Rule of Sevierville, TN, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Morningview Transitional Unit. Georgia was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Maryville. She was a graduate of the UT Class of 1940 with a degree in education. She taught school in Sevier and Blount Counties. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Milton A. Adams; brothers, Stirl and Bill; sisters, Maude Walker, Ruby Reed, Merle Russell, Margaret Delozier, Addie Wise, and Norma Mitchell. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandy Adams of Germantown, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Jim Mathys of Knoxville; grandchildren, Robert (Dawn) VanAusdal and Stacey (Kurt) Bryan all of Germantown, TN, and Elizabeth Adams of Lexington, KY, Justin and Joshua Mathys of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Trinity, Kyler, Alec and Madison VanAusdal and Chandler and Elyse Bryan. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Scott Gardner and staff, Morningview Village Assisted, Companionship, and Transitional Units for their loving care. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Betty Hoglen officiating. Friends may call at their convenience after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville.
