Private Ernest Adams, the only Chicagoan whose name was on the army list, was killed in an aeroplane accident. He was 29 years of age, and the son of J. J. Adams, a retired merchant of 1127 Hinman avenue, Evanston. He enlisted as an airplane mechanic last summer at Medford, Ore., where he had been a fruit grower for eight years. He sailed overseas in February of this year and has been stationed in England since.
