CARR -- Stanley P. "Pap Pap" Sr.,
70, 824 Sherman St., died 1:30 am
March 8, 1996, at Conemaugh Valley
Memorial Hospital. Born May 8, 1925,
in Altoona, PA, son of Arthur and
Ethel B. (Frisby) Carr. Preceded in
death by parent; brother, Shirley;
and daughter, Victoria Lynn Carr.
Survived by wife, E. Geraldine
(Howling) Carr, and these children:
Loretta, Rosetta, and Eugene, all
of Altoona; Jacqueline, married to
Ernest Andrews; Cleo, married to the
former Carol Ferg; ; Rodney, married
to Rodriguez Smothers; and Stanley
Jr., married to the former Yvette
Scott, all of Johnstown;brothers-in-law:
Luke DeBose Jr,; Robert Howling;
and Donald Jefferson, all of
Johnstown. Also survived by step-
brother Edgar Brawley, and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
and special friends, Mrs. Ruth B.
Whitehead; Mr. and Mrs. James
Yates; Mr, Robert "Burhead" Kinsey;
Artie J. Lightfoot; Stephanie Stephens;
and Calvin Coleman. Retired
from Construction General Laborers
Local Union 910, with 33 years service.
Was World War II veteran of U.S.
Army. Was member of Kernville
Crime Watch. Was a devoted bus
patrolman for the children at corner of
Everhart and Napoleon streets. Was
member of Flood City Lodge 371,
I.B.P.O.E of W. Received outstanding
service award from Kiwanis Club of
Johnsown. Family will receive
friends at the First Mennonite
Church, 705 Somerset St., where he
was a member and served faithfully,
from 10 am until 9 pm Monday, and
from 10 am until 1 pm Tuesday, the
time of the funeral service, the Rev.
David Graybill officiating. Interment,
Grandview Cemetery. Elks Lodge
will conduct their memorial service 7
pm Monday at the church. VFW
Post 155 will conduct military rites at
gravside. The Gordon Mortuary, 662
Main St., in charge of arrangements.
