Born to Robert Lee Rogers (1874-1960) & Roxie Latimer Rogers (1884-1968).

Lee married Mary Hazel Hathcock (1908-1976) on July 11, 1927, in Big Spring, TX. One son: Dr. Glenn Alfred Rogers.

Lee Rogers was a dentist and mayor of Big Spring, TX, from 1958-1962. He and Mary were married 48 years.

Former Big Spring Mayor Dies
BIG SPRING -- Dr. Lee O. Rogers, 73, a former mayor of Big Spring, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday in the Big Spring Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. William F. Henning will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park.

Born July 25, 1903, in Indian Territory, he came to Big Spring as a child in 1905. He attended Southern Methodist University and graduated from the Baylor University College of Dentistry in Dallas.

He married Mary Hathcock July 11, 1927, in Big Spring. She died May 31, 1976.

He returned to Big Spring after finishing school and began his practice in 1932. He also had a practice in Midland for 30 years and had an office in Lamesa.

At one time, he served as a mayor of Big Spring and also served on the city council. He also served on the board of directors of the Colorado River Municipal Water District. He was a past president of West Texas Dental Society and the Texas Orthodontic Society and past president of the Big Spring Chamber of Commerce. He was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Glenn A. Rogers of Midland; two grandsons, David and Robert, both of Midland; three sisters, Maurine R. Langham of Santa Fe, N.M., Mildred Truan of Colorado City and Lucille Owen of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church or to a charity of their choice.

Pallbearers will be John Currie, Hanbly Driver, Andy Swartz, Paschal Odom, Calvin Daniels and Jimmy Wheeler.

Party Held at Club for Wedding Guests
The Gold Room at Big Spring Country Club was the scene Thursday evening for a dinner party honoring out-of-town guests who are here for the wedding of Miss Louan Parks and Glenn Rogers.

Miss Parks is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Parks, Lamesa, and Dr. and Mrs. Lee O. Rogers, 300 Washington, are parents of the prospective bridegroom.

Hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. J. Gordon Bristow, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Curry, Mr. and Mrs. A. Swartz and Mrs. Curtis Driver. The group presented a wedding gift to the honored couple.

Guests were seated at tables covered with pink linen where gold, swirled candelabra held pink tapers in arrangements of fuchsia and pink carnations. Fuchsia Elegance carnations and leather fern encircled the punch bowl.

Out-of-town guests were Miss Sally Fisher and Dr. J. Walton Lawrence, Jr., both of Fort Worth; Mrs. William A. Roever and Miss Ann Chiles, both of Austin; Anthony Briggle, Miss Anne McKnight, Miss Lynn Porter and Miss Mary Kay Schoffman, all of Dallas; Charles Dishman, Bryan; Dr. James A. Prentice, Wichita Falls; Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Trammell, Jr., Houston; Mr. and Mrs. William C. Estes, Bonham; Miss Linda Lanham, Temple; Wade Simpson, Midland; and Mrs. and Mrs. Parks, Lamesa, the bride's parents.

Thirty-six attended.

Miss Parks and Rogers will be married Saturday evening, August 22, in the First Presbyterian Church at Lamesa.
