Katherine "Kata" Belle Hooten Reina Katherine "Kata" Belle Hooten Reina passed away at her home on May 13, 2011. She was born in Overton, Texas, on June 1, 1939, to T.J. and Lorene Hooten. She was married to Joe Reina, her beloved husband of 26 years. He was related to the Fabian Ramos family of Pflugerville through his mother, Belen Ramos. Katherine and Joe last traveled together to Mexico City, Mexico. After Joe's passing, Katherine devoted time to mission work as a Registered Nurse in Central and South America. Her most loved travel was to Israel. Katherine delighted in learning of her Lord and Savior through worship and dancing with her Messianic Jewish congregations S'hma Israel with leaders, Daniel and Sylvia Calderon currently of Seattle, Washington; and Mishkan Elohim, with leaders, Sal and Sandra Gonzales of Dripping Springs, Texas. She used the work of her hands to glorify G-d. Her life was a Banner of Love over all she encountered, and was happy to bless everyone with the lovingkindness of her Savior, Yeshua-Jesus. Katherine is survived by her son, Joe Reina and wife, Teresa, and his children, Joshua and Ashley and great-granddaughter, Kassidy; daughter, Belen Dominguez and husband, Angel, and children, Ana and Andrew; daughter, Teresa Deal, and husband, Greg, and her children, Chris, Nick, and Christin; Rebecca Green and her daughter, Sophia. Chris Reina, Katherine's son, lived with his mother and provided companionship and friendship since the passing of their beloved husband and father, Joe Reina, in 1986. She is survived by her sister, Donna Gayle Sanders and her beloved husband, Edward, of Arp, Texas, and her children, Sherri Winters, Lisa Schuler, and Jason Sullivan; her brother, Tommy Hooten , and his wife, Susan, of Kilgore, Texas, and their children Tommy, Shane, William, Jason, and Cindy.
