Mrs. Lottie Rebecca Siniard, 119½ East Juniper St., died in a Rome convalescent home at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday following an extended illness. Her condition had been serious for two months.

Mrs. Siniard was born in Bartow County Sept. 25, 1886, daughter of the late James and Margaret Jane Johnson Abney but had been a resident of Rome since 1925, coming here from Bartow County. She was a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church and the Ladies Bible Class. A son, Allen James Siniard died on July 18, 1960.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel Goodwin Siniard, to whom she was married Jan. 1, 1905; five daughters, Mrs. O. H. Combs and Mrs. J. O. Carter of Marietta, Mrs. A. B. Brock, Mrs. Ottie Argo and Mrs. Charles Sharp, all of Rome; one son, Otis R. Siniard, Rome; four sisters, Mrs. Robert Cain, Cedartown, Mr. J. A. Barnett, Smyrna, Mrs. O. D. Haynes, Sylacauga, Ala. and Mrs. D. L. Newton of Oxford, Ala.; two brothers, J. A. Abney, Okeechobee, Fla. and M. A. Abney of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Hollywood Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Ralph Dingler, the Rev. Russell Head and the Rev. Harold Beard, pastor of Wilkerson Road Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery. The body was to be carried to the residence of a granddaughter, Mrs. Jimmy Poulos, 12 Davis St. at 4 p.m. today to remain until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers include Ralph Jolly, Quinn Hyde, Ed Roper, Tim Sullins, Bill Sherman and Lester Carter. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. (Rome News-Tribune, Wednesday, April 15, 1964)
