Howard W. "Scotty" Brown, 88 of Amelia, former resident of Baltimore died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berea, Ky.

He was a retired manager of Columbia Gas of Ohio in Baltimore with 35 years of service. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Baltimore Masonic Lodge 475 F&AM, Scottish Rite and past commander of the Baltimore VFW Post 3761.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Laura B. Brown of Amelia; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Carla Brown of Amelia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and David Kuebel of Cincinnati and Beth and Tim Adkins of Somerset, Ky.; god daughter, Marcia R. Kaplan of Florida; eight grandchildren, Laura and Patrick Kuebel, Haley and Callie Adkins, Lindsey, Carlie, Candice and Cayla; and brother, Noel S. "Cob" Brown of Baltimore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Susie Brown; brother, Robert M. Brown; and sister, Catherine Outcalt.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Baltimore, with the Rev. Michael Donnally officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be given to Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Main St., Baltimore 43130; or HospiceCare Plus, 208 Kidd Drive, Berea, Ky. 40403.
