Miss Agnes Martha Cassidy, an esteemed and well known resident of this city, died at 4:45 o'clock this morning at her home, 803 west Second street, after an illness of nineteen weeks' duration with heart trouble.
The deceased was a daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen Cassidy and was born and spent her entire life in Madison. She was a life-long and devout member of St. Michael's Catholic church and had hosts of friends who will learn of her passing with much sorrow.
To her the struggle and burden of bearing earth are ended and she knows herself at home with all the vast throng of loved ones, missed from earth, safe about her. Her home instincts were strong in this world of disappointment and her affection for friends and kindred was tender and abiding. Among all she ranked as a woman of refinement, sympathy, a kind neighbor and a devoted friend and her passing will be learned with sincere regret by a wide circle.
Miss Cassidy was the last of six sisters and is survived only by two brothers, Martin, with whom she lived, and John, also of this city. A niece and two nephews also survive, Mrs. Albert A. Appel, of Sandusky, O.; Alois Beerck, of Toronto, Canada, and William Cassidy, of Indianapolis. The remains were removed to the Vail memorial home where friends are invited. Friends are requested to please omit flowers.
Miss Cassidy was a cousin of Joseph M. Kennison who died Monday evening following a cerebral hemorrhage a few hours earlier.
