T/Sgt. Roy Thee Expected Home this week, honorably discharged after having served in the army since August, 1942. He telegraphed from Jefferson Barracks, Mo., Tuesday to tell his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. H. Thee, southeast of town, that he had reached Newport News last Friday aboard the USS Torreus. He was a turret specialist with the 9th Air Force in England and France. He wears the E. T. O. ribbon with the six stars and a presidential unit citation.
Obituary:
Roy Frank Thee, 41, assistant plant manager at the Whitaker Cable Corp., died unexpectedly early this morning after suffering a heart attack at his home, 3319 Renick Street.
Mr. Thee has been with the Whitaker firm 15 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Chamber of Commerce, serving on its transportation committee.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he belonged to Pony Express Post, American Legion. Mr Thee was a native of Jefferson City, Mo.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary C. Thee; two daughters, Karen and Susan Marie, and a son, James; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Thee, Clark, MO.; a sister, Mrs. Jack Snavely, Sioux Falls, S.D., and a brother, Walter Thee, Mol, Belgium, an engineer with the Westinghouse atomic power plant.
