John Adam Inman, 76, of the Missouri Veterans Home, died there Monday, Feb. 6, 1995.(Cause of death, lung cancer)

He was born March 6, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, son of John Adam and Alvina Bleckwendt Inman Sr.

Inman was a retired self-employed painter and had also farmed in the Egypt Mills area.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cape.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 to 1946, and received the President's Citation for Bravery.

Survivors include two sisters ,Virginia Lohmeier of Egypt Mills and Helen Dodds of Sarasota, FL.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.(Charles Inman and Mary Mansfield.)

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838

(John was married during WWII to a woman named Martha, they had a daughter, Sharon Sue, born in 1945, they separated after the war and whereabouts of Martha and Sharon Sue are unknown.
