Johnnie Lucille Looker went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband, Jim, Sunday, March 7, 1999.

She was born to Bob and Mattie McCord September 23, 1911, in Tahoka, Texas. She met Jim Looker in Fort Worth, Texas, during World War II and they married June 29, 1946. They made their first home in Idaho Springs, Colorado where they enjoyed many happy years in real estate and running their restuarant, the Brown Derby.
Lucille and Jim "retired" in the mid 1950s and took a few months to travel across the United States to choose the perfect place to live. When they saw the magnificent Hill Country of Texas, they knew they were home. Soon they found themselves involved with-in their new community of Ingram, where they opened Looker Realty and later developed the Hills 'n' Dales addition just west of town. Lucille was active in many causes including her church, Eastern Star and the Hill Country Arts Foundation.
After Jim's death in 1982, Lucille moved to Kerrville where she enjoyed as active life with many friends and the wonderful staff of the Ameripark Retirement Community.
Lucille is survived by her nieces and nephews, H.B. McCord Jr., E.L. Short, Harry Lee Short, Billy Loren Thomas, JoAnn Mock, Joseph McCord, Mary Jane McCord, Don Mac Edwards, Kay Haston, Pam Phillips, Mike Mott and her dear friend Beverly Robinson of Kerrville.
The family requests memorial contributions go to Kerrville Family Hospice, whose help, compassion and understanding was immearsurable.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, in the Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, with the Rev.Phil Tilden officiating. Interment followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville.
Services under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
