Biography
Zella Inez Adams, 97 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Hospital in Durant, Oklahoma. She was born on February 10, 1914 in Graham, Oklahoma to the late James Latham Willis and Eursley Jane Downey Willis. Zella was raised all over Oklahoma due to her father's oil field work. She later moved to New Mexico before moving back to Madill at the age of 20. She lived here the rest of her life. Zella married Ammuel Lloyd "Moose" Adams on November 17, 1934 in Madill. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1993. She worked as a farmer-rancher, cotton picker, custom hay baler, painter, carpenter, etc. Whatever work there was to be done, Zella would help Moose get it done. She always helped anyone that needed a meal or a place to sleep. Zella was a member of the Gratham Baptist Church, the Madill Round-up club, the Marshall County Home Demonstration Club and she enjoyed rodeo's, cooking and loved her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. She was known as Nanaw, Aunt Zella, or Mrs. Adams to most of Marshall County.
