Betty Louise (Husby) Potter, age 81, passed away September 30, 2006, at her home in Marysville, Washington, after complications arising from pneumonia. Her last days were spent with many visits from her children, in her own bed, and at peace.

Betty was born in Sedro Wooley, Washington, on September 14, 1925. She graduated from Everett High School (class of 1943) where she was active in debate and state-wide speech competitions. She worked at several banks in Everett, where she developed a close circle of girlfriends. She was with these same friends when she met and later married her husband, Harold Potter.

Harold and Betty raised their children in California. Over time, the grown children and then Betty and Harold were able to return to her home state of Washington where she has spent the past 20 years.

Betty leaves behind her pride and joy - her three beloved children, Pam Wylie, and her husband, Doug, of Marysville, Julie Albrecht and Chris Simmons, of Marysville, and Steve Potter, and his wife, Kari, of Lynnwood, Washington; ten beautiful grandchildren, Christy, Melissa, Shelly, Ashley, Shannon, Nicole, Sarah, Meghan, Jacob, and Kathryn; and two precious great grandchildren, Mia and Jacob; sister-in-law, Jean Husby; brother-in-law, Hervey Potter, and wife, Gerry, of Ohio; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and her brother, Charles Husby.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Everyone she encountered observed her extraordinary kindness. She loved to laugh, and she will be dearly missed.
