Charles was the fourth of nine children born to Frederick Keller and Henrietta Brecker. On 19 Sep 1888 he married Rosa A. Richterkessing and they had two sons, Philip and Howard. Rosa died 02 Dec 1895 and on 14 Jul 1902 he married Emma Fox. For many years Charles was a moulder of mantles and stoves. He was a member of Roland Lodge, Knights of Pythias, and the Iron Molders' union. At the time of his death he was a retired janitor. Charles died at the age of 74 from a heart condition. His funeral was held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
