He was born at Harbison Township on October 19, 1922 to Henry A. and Annetta E. (Seitz) Baer. Married twice; 1st marriage, Cleovia E. Meyer, she died in 1965, 2nd marriage to Mildred Buchta Freyberger on July 6, 1965 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township.
Linus Baer was a WWII Army Veteran and a retired Farmer and also worked at Leed Selling Tools Corporation in Ireland.
He is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township and Charter Member Ireland Conservation Club.
Served on the advisory Board at Northwood Retirement Community and also held several office and served on the Church Council at St. John Lutheran Church.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday (May 6, 2008) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.
