Albert H. Bowen, 69, of Magee passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at his residence.

He was born in Magee on October 14, 1941, a son of the late Nettie May (Axton) and Albert Truman Bowen. He is survived by: his wife, Carol Sellers Bowen; three daughters, Doris Jean Whittinghill, of Raleigh; Lorine Bowen, of Florida; Melissa Starita, of Magee; and a son, Jason Bowen (Kimberly), of Brandon. Mr. Bowen is also survived by grandchildren: Cashae Bynum, Amanda Kemp, David Starita, Miranda Starita, Scott Starita, Jacob Starita, Christi Ainsworth, Brianna Bowen, Ian Bowen; and great grandchildren, Kassidy Bynum, Alexia Bynum, and Axton Starita. A brother, John Bowen, of Raleigh also survives him.

Mr. Bowen, who worked as a pipe fitter and welder, is preceded in death by a brother, Dude Bowen; and sisters, Irene Wilson and Bobbie Bowen.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee.

Religious service will be at Tutor Funeral Home Chapel, Magee, at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 24, 2011, with Rev. Rudy Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Merchant Cemetery in Smith County.
