Death occurs at home of daughter
Funeral to be Thursday
William Major Black, aged 89 years, passed away Tuesday at 9:20 pm at the home of his daughter, Mrs John Neely, one mile north of Springville. The deceased was a native of Kentucky and was the son of John Black and wife. For the past four months he had been making his home with his daughter. Death was due to infirmities of age.
Surviving relatives include eight children: James Eli Black of Marion, Mrs John Cassady of Marion, William C.of Spann, KY, Mrs John Singleton of Mintenville, KY, Mrs Howard Stepp of Oklahoma, Eph M. Black of Stuebenville, KY and Mrs John Neely of Springville.
The deceased was a member of the Baptist church and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 2pm at the Patton Hill Church with internment in the Patton Hill Cemetery.
