MELVIN H. DANNEWITZ DIES
Melvin H. Dannewitz of Byron was found dead in a hotel room in Belvidere late Saturday afternoon, when the hotel clerk went to see if he wished to retain his room for the next night.
Mr. Dannewitz was born on a farm north of Somonauk, Jan. 27, 1895. He was married to Ella Leary of Byron, Sept. 10, 1924.
Surviving, besides the widow, are his mother, Mrs. Pauline Dannewitz of Somonauk, two brothers, Harry and Elmer, and a sister, Mrs. Luella Shambaugh, also os Somonauk.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary's church, Byron and burial was in the Catholic cemetery. The Phillip Cafagna post of the American Legion had charge of the services at the grave.
