BETTENDORF - Charles Arthur Everman, 78, of Bettendorf died at home Thursday, February 3, 2011. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 1 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

Charles was born on the family farm near Seymour, Iowa, on June 12, 1932. He was the son of Charles and Florence (Bonifield) Everman. Charles served in the U.S. Navy, being stationed in Hawaii for several years. He was employed in the maintenance department for the Davenport Public Schools for over 30 years. He belonged to the Davenport Moose Lodge and loved to go bowling and dancing.

He was formerly married to Eunice Teater on December 26, 1954. She preceded him in death August 26, 2008.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Barbara (Jim) Conitz, Waukee, Iowa, Chuck and companion Deb McCrillis, Rockford, Ill., Steven Everman, Davenport; grandchildren, Charlie Everman, Rockford, Terri Law, Bettendorf, Amy Peterson, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jenny Snyder, Milan, Ill., Chris Suiter, Davenport; great-grandchild, Alex; 10 step great-grandchildren; sister, Luetta Sager, Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, brothers, Ted, Franklin, Karl and Herman, sisters, Mary Clark, Margie Thomas, Eva Bryant and Viola Maddalozzo preceded him in death.

He continues to be loved and will be greatly missed!
