Helen Dodds, of Waterford passed away Tuesday September 30, 2003 at the age of 88.
She was born in Franklin, TN, November 19, 1914 to John Adam and Alvina Bleckwendt Inman. Raised In Cape Girardeau, MO. she married Rudolph Sebastian in Gordonville, MO. They moved to Pontiac, MI. in 1947, After Rudolph's death, she married John Dodds in Pontiac. They moved to Sarasota FL., and lived there for 25 years, returning to MI in 1996.
She lived in Cape Girardeau, MO, Pontiac, MI and Sarasota FL.
She is survived by her children Carolyn (Richard) Achimov, Dorothy (Glen) Clayton both of Waterford and Wesley (Verna) Sebastian of Ortonville. "Nanny" to her grandchildren, Deborah (John) Sidelinker, Scott (Dee Talbott) Clayton, Charles, Susan and Kathryn Sebastian. Great-grandmother to Matt Sidelinker, Ryan and Jason Talbott. One brother-in-law Harold Dodds, two sister-in-laws Mary and Julia Dodds and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husbands, parents brothers Charles and John Inman, sisters Mary Mansfield and Virginia Lohmeier.
She loved her children and grandchildren which were the joys of her life. Helen loved to quilt and make cookies but was more known for her contagious smile
She was a member of Cedar Crest Lutheran Church n White Lake, MI. She was also active in her church in Florid in Evangelism visitations to church member along with husband John
Funeral service will be 11 am, Friday Octber 3, 2003 at Cedar Crest Lutheran Church (485 Farnsworth, White Lake, MI,. 48386. Pastor Paul Wargo officiating. Interment at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac. Family receive friends at Coats Funeral Home, Waterford, Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name would be appreciated to Cedar Crest Lutheran Church or HAVEN, P.O.
