Adolph J. Machicek, 75 of Victoria, died Saturday, March 3, 2001.


He was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Schulenburg, to the late August and Mary Machicek. He served the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from Alcoa after 32 years of service. He was a Catholic.


Survivors: wife, Frances J. Machicek; daughter, Sharon Hockinson of San Antonio; sister, Rosie Maly of Moulton; and brothers, Frank Machicek of Point Comfort, James Machicek of San Antonio and Julius Machicek of Schulenburg.


Preceded in death by: sister, Agnes Machicek; and brothers, Max Machicek, John Machicek, Henry Machicek and Joe Machicek.


Visitation was 4-6 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home chapel.


Services were 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, the Rev. Roy McLaurin officiating.


Burial with full military honors, under the auspices of VFW, DAV, CWV, American Legion, Marine Corps League, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Crossroads Ex-POWs was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria.


Honorary pallbearers: Patrick Hockinson and Marvin Janak.
