Frank Johnson was born in Sweden in 1850 and came to this country when he was twenty years old. He and his wife Lena moved to Polk County Nebraska in 1884, building a home outside of Osceola. They had two children of their own and raised two orphan boys, including Harry Carbonetti, my grandfather. Frank Johnson was considered a good friend and neighbor whose private life was spotless and whose convictions were keen and sincere. This must be so, because these same traits were found in my grandfather.
