Sadly, William Casey, died 02 Feb 1908. Two years after William Casey passed away, his widow, Caroline (Pierce) Casey died on Monday, 16 May 1910, just shy of her 50th birthday. Death came at the home of her sister, Grace (Pierce) Madison in San Rafael. The following appeared in the San Francisco Call on the 16th:

San Rafael, May 16. -- Mrs. Caroline L. Casey, widow of the late W. J. Casey, and well known throughout the state in social and church circles, having been a stanch [sic] supporter of the Christian Science faith, died at the home of her brother in law, F. D. Madison, of San Rafael, today. She was 50 years old and was a native of Marysville.
Miss Ruth Casey, daughter of the deceased, is now on her way home from Europe. Besides her daughter and her relatives in San Rafael Mrs Casey is survived by two sisters, Mrs. F. H. Beaver of San Francisco and Mrs. Lester L. Moore of San Jose, and two brothers, J. H. and R. T. Pierce of Santa Clara.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the Christian Science church, although interment will be delayed, pending the arrival of Miss Ruth Casey.
According to the notice in the 18 May issue of the San Francisco Call, funeral arrangements were to be private, and interment would be in a family vault in Santa Clara.
