Russell Eugene Green, 70, of Cahokia, Ill., born Oct. 11, 1940, in Scott County, Mo., passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at John Cochran VA Medical Center, Mo.
Russell proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963 and continued to support the military as a lifetime member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. He also supported his community by serving as a member of the Cahokia Moose Lodge and Jaycee organizations and was a respected leader of the Cahokia Boy Scouts. He worked as a security guard at various locations in the St. Louis metro east area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Lorena, nee Reed; and siblings, Janet and Barbara Disandis.
Surviving are his girlfriend, Jacqueline Robinson of Cahokia, Ill; son, Mark of Troy, Ill.; daughter, Michelle of Godfrey Ill; granddaughter, Jennifer; brother, Donald; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: A small burial ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
