Elmer McCormick, aged 72, the brother of James E. McCormick of Muncie, died early Thursday at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Mr. Elmer McCormick was a retired locomotive engineer on the New York Central Railroad in Muncie. He and his wife Beryl moved to Florida five years ago.

Surviving is the wife Beryl and three siblings: brother James of Muncie, Indiana, and two sisters, Miss Blanche McCormick and Miss Martha McCormick, both of Delaware County.

Mr. McCormick was a member of the Sky Crest Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers 121, Veritas 608, Veritas 160, Murat Temple Shrine, and Royal Arch Masons, all of Indianapolis. Mr. Elmer McCormick was also a member of Disabled Veterans of World War I of Cincinnati.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Sunday.
