Dr. Bryan E. Simons, 62, of Mansfield, Texas died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at The All Saints Episcopal Hospital in Fort Worth. He was a long time resident of Bay City where he served the people of Matagorda County as a medical and surgical doctor for over 30 years. Recently after retirement, he moved to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex area to help his son and daughter-in-law start the High Point Church in Arlington. He was known as a compassionate physician who cared for the physical and spiritual needs of his patients. He was born in New Gulf, Texas on Feb. 07, 1938 to parents Dr. Bryan E. Simons and Lenore Hall Simons.
Survivors include: his wife, son and daughter-in-law; mother, Lenore Simons of Bay City; daughters and sons-in-law; brother and sister-in-law; sister, Barbara Slone of New Braunfels; and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his father; and a son, Greg Simons.
Funeral services were to be Saturday, March 25, 2000 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bay City with Pastors Gary Simons, Joe Davis, Greg McMullen, Dr. Fred Matthes, Jerry Hobbs, Hill Winfrey and Hollie Briscoe officiating. Burial was to follow in Cedarvale Cemetery.
The family wishes memorial contributions to be made to the High Point Church, P.O. Box 150478, Arlington, TX 76015.
Services are under the direction of Bay City Funeral Home.
