Robert Riley Caldwell Sr. 97 passed away on Friday June 24, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Columbia.

Services will be held at 11a.m. Friday July 1, 2011 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City Mo. Visitation will be from 10a.m. until time of service at the church.

Riley was born October 8, 1913 son of William and Rose Anna Riley Caldwell in Lakenon Mo. In 1939 he married Irene Garner who preceded him in death.

Riley served in WW II with the U.S Army and was stationed in Italy. He loved fishing, hunting and playing with his grandkids. He enjoyed his garden, working in the yard and cardinal baseball.

Survivors include one son ,Robert R. Caldwell II. of Columbia Mo/ a daughter, Barbara Coffman of Miram KS. four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter, Beverly Underhill.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Assn. or the American Cancer Society.
