Karen E Knutson was born in Vigeso, Bjerkrien Sogn, Norway, November 7, 1841, and passed away at her home in Radcliffe, February 25, 1929, having reached the age of 87 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Mrs. Knutson's parents were, Aadne and Lisa Tastad. There were ten children in the family, of which only one survives her, namely, Jacob Larson of Pontiac, Illinois, now over 80 years of age.

Mrs. Knutson came from Norway to Ottawa, Illinois in 1869. In 1874 she was united in marriage to Elias Knutson. The same year they moved to Hamilton County, Iowa, where they lived on a farm until 1909. Since then they have resided in Radcliffe.

Those who knew Mrs. Knutson best knew her as a woman of prayer.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Elias Knutson, five children, Mrs. William Hodnefield, of Radcliffe, Mrs. L.O. Larson, of Williams, Iowa, Mrs. A.O. Engevik, of Bricelyn, Minn., John Knutson, of Atwater, Minn., and Lewis Knutson of Radcliffe, Iowa; also twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home and at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church this (Thursday) afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. B.K. Barstad, and the remains were laid to rest in the Radcliffe Cemetery.
