Hazel B. Petrey, 79, of Ravenna died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at her home. Born Jan. 27, 1920 in Hinton, W. Va., she was the daughter of Granville M. and Lula Caroline (Wickline) Wykle. Mrs. Petrey was a nursing assistant at the Hattie Larlham Foundation and the Portage County Nursing Home. She was a member of Peck Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed making crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, John E. Young of Arlington, Va., Fred D. Young and Clinton D. Young, both of Atwater, Arnold R. Young of Ravenna; daughters, Linda C. Adkins of Ravenna, Geneva C. Basel of Freedom, and Betty L. Adkins of Hinton, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Robert Petrey; son, Arthur Young; daughter, Shirley Ann Young; granddaughter, Lisa Ann Adkins; and several brothers and sisters died previously. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert Workman and the Rev. Denver Lovejoy officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
