Violet Marie HERRIN, 99, formerly of Argos, died at 5:10 a.m. Thursday at Miller's Merry Manor, Peru.
Born in Mishawaka to Octave I. and Ida A. McWILLIAMS ARCHAMBEAULT, she married Iley J. HERRIN Oct. 8, 1930, in Crown Point. He died June 25, 1950.
Mrs. Herrin and her husband owned and operated Herrin & Fox Tavern, Argos.
Survivors include two daughters, Ila WARNER, Delton, Mich., Mary Jo STEPHENSON, Peru; one son, James [HERRIN], Argos; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia ROMINE, Bourbon; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death with her husband were her parents, two sisters, Lillian CHAPIN and Margaret HIGGINBOTHAM, and four brothers, Melvin, Jack, Clarence and Russell ARCHAMBEAULT.
Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos. Friends may call from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Monday at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
