SEVIERVILLE, TENN. - Milton Robert Houst, 93, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at Jefferson City Health and Rehab Center. Born July 15, 1917 in Elizabethtown, N.J., he was the son of the Late Henry Otto and Anna Mae Mann Houst. Mr. Houst was a former justice of the peace and town supervisor of the Town of Woodstock. For many years, he operated the H. Houst and Son Hardware Store in Woodstock and later was a real estate broker. He lived several years in Fla. and worked as a salesman there until he and his wife moved to Sevierville in 1986. Milton was an active member of the Episcopal Church of St. Joseph the Carpenter of Sevierville. He always kept busy doing odd jobs as well as needed jobs for the church and keeping the church grounds manicured, until his health stopped his activity. He is survived by his wife, Lucilla V. Poole Fowler Houst; a son, Robert and his wife Roberta Houst of Woodstock; Grand children Robert C. Houst of Berlin, Germany and Jennifer Mackey and her husband Russell of Saugerties; Step-sons Robert E. and his wife Marianne Fowler of Jackson, Mich., William E. Fowler of Ellenton, Fla.; Step-daughter Tamara A. and James Truitt of Hunestville, Ala., his sister, Ruth Kelley of Woodstock; nieces, nephews and a special friend, Heinz Schullenberger of Sarasota, Fla. Services and burial were in Sevierville, Tenn. He was a veteran of WWII. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry J. Houst and three sisters, Alice and her husband Roy Reynolds, June Steinhilber and Dorothy Lund.
