Daisy G. Canterbury, 87, 104 Baker Street, Clarksville, died in Red River General Hospital on Wednesday, February 16. Funeral services were conducted in Jolley's Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Claud Martin, pastor of the Annona Baptist Church. Interment by Jolley's Funeral Home was in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Canterbury was born in Willow Island, Nebraska, on Dec. 7, 1889, daughter of Peyton and Laura Gentry. She has been a resident of Red River County most of her life.

She was married to Charles C. Canterbury in Versey, Texas, on June 4, 1911. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include the husband, C. C. Canterbury, four daughters, Mrs. H. L. Kidd, Bryan, Texas; Mrs. Fred Mertz, College Station, Texas; Mrs. George Campbell, Farmingdale, New York, and Mrs. George T. Miller, Tyler, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle McCain, Dallas; Mrs. Opel Frick, Troup, Texas; and Miss Lillian Gentry, Wichita Falls; 11 grandchildren, and, 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: S. W. Allen, Jr.; Bill Bettes; Alex Simpson; Dr. James F. Kelty; Tommy Reep; and, Eric Hausler.
