Clarksville Man Dies In France

Clarksville (Special)--The flag on the public square was flying at half-mast Wednesday for Tech Sgt. Roy Rains, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sesil Rains, who died in France, Dec. 31 {sic: Jan 1, 1945}.

The message, received by the parents Tuesday night, failed to state where he had been killed or had died from natural causes, but informed them that a letter would follow.

Sergeant Rains, a native of Clarksville had been in the Army about two years, and overseas 10 months. Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother and four sisters.

Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Rains of Claarksville have been notified that the body of their son, Roy S. Rains, is en-route to Clarksville for reburial. He died Jan. 1, 1945 from an accidental injury the preceding day.
