Steve Bucek, 97, a lifelong resident of Coraopolis, died Fri., June 24, 2011, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born on Neville Island April 27, 1914 to John & Elizabeth (Novich) Bucek. U.S. Navy, WWII veteran who received a Purple Heart. Steve was employed as a bricklayer for Pittsburgh Forgings, retiring in 1977 after 42 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis, and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 402 Coraopolis. Survived by wife, Alice (Jerrome) Bucek; daughters, Sally Baumgartel & husband, James, of Robinson Twp., and Shirley Johnson & husband, John, of Saluda, NC; and 4 grandchildren: James Baumgartel III, Mark Baumgartel, John Johnson, Jr. and Jeffrey Johnson. Copeland Coraopolis Funeral Home. Interment, Coraopolis Cemetery.
