Mr. Arrowood was born February 22, 1914, in Greenville County, SC. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. Wilton was an Elder of Dillingham Presbyterian Church. He was a son of the late Benjamin and Mary Fish Arrowood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Fuchsia Marie Arrowood who died in 2006.
Surviving are his daughters; Kathy Rector and husband Jack of Taylorsville, and Jean Anderson and husband J.R. of Weaverville; son, G. Carroll Arrowood and wife Melanie of Asheville; sister, Hazel Ward of Brevard; grandchildren, Brian Anderson, April Rice, Ben Arrowood, and Anna Marie Rector; and nine great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Dillingham Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Richard Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Haynie Family Cemetery, Weaverville, with military rites conducted by Mars Hill VFW Post 5483.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville.
