Mrs. Viola Lloyd Ayers Collins, 91, of Lebanon, Sunday, June 26, 2011, at CrownPointe in Lebanon.

She was born in Indianapolis, on Dec. 14, 1919. She was the last living child of six born to the now late Theodore and Eliza (Palmer) Lloyd.

Viola lived in Indianapolis where she was a graduate of Shortridge High School and the School of Practical Nursing.

In Indianapolis, she married Edward Ayers on Dec. 24, 1939, and he is deceased. She was married in Lebanon on Aug. 30, 1986, to J. Merritt Collins. Mr. Collins died on Oct. 2, 2004.

Viola was employed as a nurse at Jones & Laughlin Steel in Lebanon for a number of years. She then worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis until she retired.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her family, children, stepchildren and their families, and liked the friends and activities that were benefits of her memberships. She was also an avid supporter of the Sheltered Workshop and the activities supporting those served by the ARC and its programs.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Lebanon, Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 23 in Lebanon, Order of Amaranth Smyma Shrine Guile, Bes Shrine Guild and Koran Temple No. 30 Daughters of the Nile.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with Eastern Star Rites at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Myers Chapel of Memories, the Rev. David Patrick officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Survivors include two sons, Mr. Jerry Ayers and wife, Betty, of Sheridan and Mr. Thomas Ayers of Lebanon; two step-children Mr. Stan Collins and wife, Judy, of Ninevah, and Mrs. Phyllis Cimaglio and husband, Ron, of Chesterland, Ohio; grandchildren Curt Ayers and wife, Jennifer, of Morrow, Ohio, Chris Ayers and wife, Melissa, of Newtown, Mike Ayers and wife, Tiffany, of Houston, Texas; step-grandchildren Jill Voris and husband, John, Jason Collins and wife, Julie, Tony Cimaglio and wife, Michele, Betsy Johnson and husband, Fred; great-grandchildren Jake, Joe, Ellie, Sophie, Wyatt and Chloe Ayers, and step-great-grandchildren Chad Voris and wife, Stephanie, Brittany Voris, Blake Voris, Jayden Collins and Olivia Collins.

She also was preceded in death by son Jack Ayers, and siblings, Merle Lloyd, Russell Lloyd, Charles Lloyd, Fred Lloyd, and Dora Mae Sevenish.
