Mae Kathryn Tetzloff was the 12th child born to Fred and Sophie (Susalla) Tetzloff. She was born in September 1897 in Lake Crystal, MN and would marry Mark Leo Conway in 1916 while in Minnesota. They would move to Wyoming before 1920. Mark and Mae would have one child, Brian Mark Conway.
