GILBERT B. AUSMUS
Gilbert B. Ausmus, formerly of Locust Hill who was born in Knox County and lived in the county his entire life, died Friday morning at Baring.
He was born April 25, 1872 and died June 18, 1943, being seventy-one years old at the time of his death.
He was married October 1, 1893 to Susie R. Bowen and to this union two sons and twin daughters were born, the daughters dying in infancy. He was preceded in death by his wife August 30, 1907.
He leaves two sons, Dave B. Ausmus of Edina and Dewey Ausmus of Ruthledge; one brother, Arthur Ausmus of Atlanta, Missouri and two sisters, Mrs. Mel Loft of Novelty and Mrs. Milo Lyon of Atlanta; also eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church at Locust Hill by Rev. O.V. Ethington of Gibbs. Burial was in the cemetery beside the grave of his wife in Locust Hill
Nephews, Wade Loft, Chester Loft, Fay Lyon, Elgin Ausmus, Darrell Ausmus and Erbie Ausmus acted as pallbearers.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Locust Hilll church for Mr. Gilbert Ausmus, a former resident, who dropped dead Friday morning at Baring. He is survived by two sons, Dave, of near Edina, and Dewey of Rutledge, and 11 grandchildren.
