Billy Joe was the seventh child of Lonzo Refus Deaton and Martha Kennedy Deaton.He and wife Barbara had one son David and Barbara Deaton Von-Haberstroh.Billy was a great musician and after a stint in the U.S.A.F. he went to Nashville and was very successful as a Business Manager/Booking Agent for several Country and Western Artists; one in particular was native Mississippian, Charlie Pride.Another was Faron Young.He was known throughout the United States and was the most awarded and honored Agent in the Industry He suffered a long illness with crippling arthritis.Visitation was from Four o'clock until seven o'clock Thursday Nov.5,2009 in the drawing room of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home 660 Thompson Lane,Nashville TN.Services were held at 11:30 Friday Nov. 6,2009 in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall with his fellow agent and fiend Tandy Rice officiating.
