He was born on June 26, 1927 in Asheville, NC to Furman and Amy Elizabeth (Collins) Rymer.
Mr. Rymer was a Civil Engineer and Division Manager for the Railroad, a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force, was a 32nd Degreee Mason and a Shriner, an avid golfer and a graduate of the University of Maryland, and has been a resident here since 1998, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Next to his family, his second love was being a lifetime railroad man. He loved the railroad and the railroad loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Sebring; Daughters - Patricia Sue Rymer of Sebring, FL and Susan Rymer Chapin of St. Louis, MO; Son - Joseph Rives Rymer, Jr. (Amy) of Nashville, TN.; Brothers - Thomas Rymer of Cheasapeake Beach, MD and John Rymer of Fenwick Island, DE; 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by a Daughter, Marcia Rymer Brown.
Funeral Services will be held on Tues. May 17, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Stephenson-Nelson Chapel in Sebring with Rev. W. Mike Adams officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM.
