WINSLOW — Joseph Armstrong died Wednesday in a Monroe hospital following a six-month illness. He was born in Cadiz Township, Wis., Sept. 8, 1897, son of Alfred and Sarah Armstrong. He was married Sept. 25, 1933, to Emma Hardel. Mr. Armstrong farmed most of his life near Winslow and in Cadiz Township.

Surviving are his wife; three brothers, John of Correctionville, Iowa, Eli of Winslow and George Armstrong Atkinson of Alma Center, Wis.; and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Boeck of South Wayne, Wis., and Mrs. David Purintun of Albany township. Mr. Armstrong was a past master of the Masonic Lodge. Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cardascio Funeral Home, The Rev. Richard Harding, pastor of Kirkland Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Lily Cemetery, where Masonic rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. today.
