RANDOLPH—Rose Ann Haupt, 78, died Saturday, June 7, 2003 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.
She was born Dec. 17, 1924 in Rochester the daughter of George H. and Leaphy A. (Battles) Bent.
She attended Braintree schools and later worked at Savages Mill, the Randolph Senior Center and at the Green Mountain Glove Factory in Randolph.
She was married to Danie Rattie, who died in 1940. She later married Kurt Haupt Nov. 9, 1946 in Montpelier.
She was a very caring and nurturing person. She cared for her parents and other relatives, in her home. She enjoyed cooking, embroidering, quilting and gardening. She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She was a member of the Randolph American Legion Auxiliary and had been a Board Member of the Randolph Area Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband, Kurt Haupt of Randolph; two daughters, Marcia King of Braintree and Maxine Gregory of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons: Kurt A. Haupt of Randolph, Kiernan V. Haupt and Kristin P. Haupt, both of Braintree; two brothers: Harold Bent of Rochester, N.Y. and Gordon Bent of Braintree; two sisters, Roxy Kendall of Post Mills and Beda Kendall of Newport, N.H.; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, June 11 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Randolph, with Rev. Timothy Eberhardt officiating. Karl King was the crucifer. Readings were given by her grandchildren Marci King and Karl King, and a letter written by her granddaughter Kathy Wike was read by Rev. Eberhardt. Shirley Baumann was the organist.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
