Frances Slobe Anderson was the daughter of John Slobe and Flora Elhart. Upon completing eight grade at age 13, she worked to contribute to the family's needs. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1947 and served at the Galileans Children's Home in Kentucky until 1952. She then worked as an LPN until her marriage in 1956 to David Anderson, who was a widower for one year. She was the mother of one child and step-mother to 3 children.
