Services Here For Former Resident
Jas. C. Martin, former resident of Carnegie and the Alfalfa community, died at his home in Weatherford February 5 after being seriously ill for more than eight months.
Funeral services were held at the Pitcher Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Friday by Rev. T.T. Brown, pastor of the First Christian church and burial was made in the Carnegie cemetery.
James Candy Martin was born in Texas March 8, 1862 where he spent the early part of his life. After living in Colorado for a time he came to Carnegie in 1929, later living at Alfalfa, Hydro and Weatherford.
Survivors are his wife and a daughter, Martha, of Weatherford; a son, William of Prague; four nieces, Mrs. W.W. Fulk and Mrs. R.E. Boyer of Carnegie and Mrs. Howard Gilbert and Mrs. Geo. D. Jones of Oklahoma City, and a nephew, Henry D. Martin of Weslaco, Texas.
