GENEVA THARPE
Mrs. Geneva Motley Tharpe, 81, of Waco died Monday, February 24, at a Waco hospital. She was born May 6, 1921 in Hubbard, daughter of James P. and Idora Motley. She was a member of Cold Corner Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Buddy) Tharpe; her parents; and one sister, Ida Mae Hester. Survivors include: two sons, Dwayne Tharpe and Dan Tharpe, both of Lorena; two brothers, Theodore Motley of Hillsboro and J.P. Motley of Waco; one sister, Hazel Tolleson of Kirby, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 28, at Wade Funeral Home Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. James Hooper officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
