Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley, where he was a member.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Benjamin retired from General Foods after 37 years and currently worked part-time at Carson Pirie Scott.
He was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Kankakee, the son of Clarence and Adele M. Dion Benjamin.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Surviving is his wife, the former Dorothy Zasada, whom he married Aug. 25, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sandy Benjamin of Bourbonnais; one grandson, Alex Benjamin; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bob and Annie Benjamin of Clifton, Ray and Becky Benjamin of Ashkum, George Benjamin of Chebanse, and Jim and Sharon Benjamin of Essex.
