Mrs. Ed Hoffarth Is Cancer Victim

Dies Thursday in St. Paul Hospital

Mrs. Edward Hoffarth, who was born and reared in Reynolds and who until seven years ago lived in Hartford, died Friday in St. Joseph's hospital in St. paul, a victim of cancer. She had been ill for the past four years.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Peter's Catholic church in Browerville. Rev. Fr. Kraemer officiated and interment was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hoffarth was the former Catherine Laumeyer, daughter of Ben and Mary Laumeyer, and was born Jan. 18, 1894, in Reynolds. She grew to womanhood in that community and on May 11, 1915, was married to Edward Hoffarth of Browerville. Mr. and Mrs. Hoffarth established their home on a farm in Hartford, where they lived until some seven years ago when they moved to St. Paul, where Mr. Hoffarth was employed.
Surviving her death are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Jeanette Glamas, Mrs. Clarence (Gertrude) Schaubach and Mrs. William (Eva) Jeffery of St. Paul, Mrs. Eugene (Julene) Koza of Minneapolis and Frederick Hoffarth of St Louis, Mo. A son, Leo, died at the age of four. There are seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoffarth is also survived by four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Mary Huyink, George P. Laumeyer and Henry Laumeyer of Long Prairie, Mrs. Wm. Woell of Browerville, Mrs. Jos. Donovan of Belle Plaine and Mrs. Henry Strong of Graceville.
The funeral rites Monday morning were very largely attended, attesting to the esteem in which Mrs. Hoffarth was held in this area where she was well remembered despite the fact the last few years of her life were spent in St. Paul.
