The first marriage in Ridott Township was that of A. J. Niles and Nancy A. Farwell; the ceremony on March 10, 1839, was performed by Thomas J. Turner, J. P.

Note: Nancy, as most of the pioneer Niles and Farwells, died and were buried in Farwell Bridge Cemetery, Ridott, at least 100 years before the cemetery name was changed.
